Clinicopathological profile of non-hodgkin lymphomas affecting the parotid glands

Resumo

Os linfomas que afetam as glândulas parótidas são incomuns e 79% de todos os casos são representados por linfomas não-Hodgkin (LNH). O objetivo deste estudo é investigar as características clinicopatológicas e imuno-histoquímicas de uma série de linfomas envolvendo as glândulas parótidas. Todos os casos diagnosticados em um serviço de patologia entre janeiro de 2008 e dezembro de 2018 foram recuperados retrospectivamente e os blocos de tecido fixados em formalina e embebidos em parafina foram avaliados para confirmação diagnóstica. Os dados clínicos foram obtidos dos prontuários dos pacientes. Obtivemos doze casos de LNH nas glândulas parótidas, representando nove linfomas MALT, dois linfomas foliculares (FL) e um linfoma difuso de grandes células B, sem outra especificação (DLBCL, NOS). Houve predileção pelo sexo feminino (10F:2M), e em todos os casos foi possível confirmar o envolvimento das glândulas parótidas por avaliação macroscópica, exames de imagem ou avaliação histológica. Clinicamente, a maioria das lesões apresentou-se como inchaços assintomáticos na região da parótida, embora dor associada tenha sido relatada em um caso de LF e três pacientes com linfoma MALT apresentassem sintomas secos. Em conclusão, os LNH que afetam as glândulas parótidas são geralmente de linhagem de células B maduras, geralmente representando subtipos de baixo grau, e frequentemente simulam outras condições benignas ou malignas.
